    Rob Spofforth
    Creative Director

    Rob uses design to optimize interactions with our clients’ target users. He oversees our creative process as FCV’s Creative Director, ensuring that we have real insight into our target market, and that we deliver engaging, results-oriented creative for our clients’ brands.

    Rob is a design aficionado; he optimizes user experience and delivers creative that speaks to people. He has been published extensively in industry magazines and books, such as Communication Arts and Applied Arts, and has the rare privilege of winning the National Post Design Exchange Award for 2 consecutive years.

    As a Capilano College Alumni member, Rob mentors up-and-coming students in graphic design, illustration and interaction design using Web 2.0 standards and emerging technologies. He also applies his expertise to leading edge work for our valued community partners. He’s a dad and a car fanatic.

    John Starkey
    President

    John founded FCV as an interactive agency with the goal of helping companies build their brands and connect with their customers. Since 2005 he has built a reputation for building client profit via strategic insight, world-class technology and well-designed digital interactions.

    Before FCV, John was director of business development at Expedia while it rose to become a global brand and where he played a key role in the creation and growth of the private label technology platform launching solutions for brands such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, VIA Rail and WestJet. He has also worked as a consultant at Accenture. He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and computer information systems from the University of Colorado and is a member of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (YEO).

    When he’s not at the office, he is a mentor for the University of British Columbia, spending time outdoors or most importantly being a dad to his two children.

    John’s leadership and philanthropic endeavours earned FCV a ‘Community Leadership Award’ from the British Columbia Technology Industry Association in 2010. He believes in helping people achieve their best and in using technology and innovation to drive results.

    Derek Whyte
    VP of Operations

    Derek leads the Operations function at FCV, responsible for creating best-in-class project management processes and ensuring well measured project delivery. He matches the often complex business needs of our clients’ with the right fulfilment resources at the right time. He leads by example, gets to the heart of matters and gets things done.

    With over 15 years in the business, Derek has successfully delivered large-scale projects for local and international brands including the Canadian Tourism Commission, TELUS, Microsoft, TransLink, Nike, EA, Sun Life Financial and the Associated Press.

    Derek has a Computer Information Systems degree from the University of the Fraser Valley. He is charismatic and fun to be around - he gets away with almost everything ;)

    Warren Anthony
    VP of User Experience

    Warren is the leading force behind FCV’s user experience design process and output. Our clients, from Rocky Mountaineer to the Royal Bank of Canada, appreciate his expertise in usability engineering and digital interaction design. He is a big picture thinker with an eye for the finest details.

    In a previous life at Tribal DDB London, Warren helped deliver richly creative integrated campaigns which scooped D&AD pencils, a W3 Best in Show and a Cannes Gold Lion on large scale projects for Philips, Hasbro and Volkswagen.

    Warren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Systems for the Arts and Media. If he's not wielding a felt tipped marker with intent for FCV you are likely to find him riding his bike or board on Vancouver’s North Shore mountains.

    Mark Starkey
    VP of Business Development

    Mark is on a perpetual mission to connect FCV with companies that are looking to improve their customers' digital brand interactions. He identifies business issues, works with our team to deconstruct, reorient and create stronger relationships with our clients’ brands, and delivers accountable, sustainable business outcomes.

    He holds a Bachelor's degree in organizational leadership & development and is on the leadership team for TEDxPortland and TEDxVancouver.  He is an ex-NCAA basketball player and he raises as much money as possible each year for cancer research through the international charity, Kayak for a Cure, which he founded in 2007.

    With a project management background, he has led a number of large-scale client projects for Nike, Mountain Equipment Co-Op and 2010 Legacies Now, and capably delivers leading edge solutions tied to client objectives.

    Shaun Scholtz
    Art Director

    Shaun sees the world through the prism of functional design, interactive technology and insightful aesthetics. You’ll rarely catch him without a camera in his hand because he likes to capture inspiring moments from the world around him which will inform interactions for his target audience.

    With a background in writing, photography, film, interaction design and front-end development he is ultimately attuned to engaging creative content which takes users from one place to somewhere better.

    He thoughtfully turns brand concepts and wireframes into offer-rich realities for clients such as The Canadian Tourism Commission, TELUS, Destination 2010, MEC and ING Direct Inc.

    Shaun also helps organize everything from Christmas food drives to the Canary Derby at FCV, expressing his insightful creativity and corporate responsibility.

    Joeline Cross
    Director of Marketing

    Joeline thinks about grand themes, patterns and behavioural movements so we can predict and pre-empt market trends. Her compassion for people helps her understand how to improve the experiences of end users for our clients and their clients too. With a strong digital background with brands like Walt Disney, Konica Minolta, Siemens, Brother, Vodafone, as well as charities and universities, she has a solid cross section of marketing grunt.

    She holds a Communications degree and is studying for an MBA as well as volunteering for various organizations.

    Tarmo Tammark
    Senior Developer

    Tarmo Tammark is our Microsoft tech guy and Sitecore ninja. As our Technical Architect, he brings with him a long history of solving problems and creating interaction forums using technologies such as ASP, ASP.NET and SQL Server. Before he was immersed with clients like Translink, the Transit Police and our travel & tourism clients, he developed and maintained financial web apps for banks, brokerages and media sites for Stockgroup Media Inc. Having lent his tech-muscle to one of the largest financial portals in Canada, he offers great value to our clients with large scale projects.

    He attended British Columbia Institute of Technology, holds a Web Development Certificate and achieved a perfect score on the Sitecore CMS Developer certification. He loves a good game of golf, heading away for a weekend of camping and a good laugh.
