John Starkey
PresidentJohn Starkey founded FCV as an agency in 2005, combining competencies in design, strategy and technology. Before starting FCV, John was director of business development at Expedia where he helped launch the destination activities business, led the product planning for a points-based online redemption tool and played a key role in the creation and growth of the private label technology platform launching solutions for brands such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, VIA Rail and WestJet. Before Expedia, John was a manager at Qpass and a senior consultant at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) and Sierra Systems Group. He is currently on the board of directors of Vancouver AM, the advisory board of DreamBank and is a mentor for the University of British Columbia and Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. John holds a BSc degree in Finance and Computer Information Systems from the University of Colorado.

Derek Whyte
VP Client ServicesDerek Whyte is the VP of Client Services at FCV. Derek leads the company’s Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for designing and implementing best practices in project management. With over 15 years of experience, Derek has led a number of large projects at FCV for TELUS, Microsoft and the Canadian Tourism Commission. Previously, Derek worked as a senior project manager at Blast Radius responsible for successful project delivery for clients such as Regence, Intrawest, EA, Nike and Brand Jordan. Prior to joining Blast Radius, Derek spent eight years as director of development for Stockgroup responsible for product development and delivery of the company’s financial portal tools for clients including National Bank Financial, Credential Direct, Sun Life Financial, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and the Associated Press. Derek holds a Computer Information Systems degree from the University College of the Fraser Valley.

Rob Spofforth
Creative DirectorRob Spofforth is Creative Director at FCV. Rob brings over 14 years of experience in creative design, art direction and interactive marketing. Rob was awarded the National Post Design Exchange Award in both 2004 and 2005 for his work on Capsoles and Jack & Lilly, as well as mention in Applied Arts and Communication Arts Magazine. Prior to joining FCV, Rob worked as a creative director, art director and designer for several companies where he created numerous websites for a wide variety of clients. Rob specializes in creating solutions using Web 2.0 standards and technologies and has a deep understanding of usability and interaction design. Rob is a graduate of the Graphic Design and Illustration program at Capilano College - now IDEA.

Mark Starkey
Director of Business DevelopmentMark Starkey is Director of Business Development at FCV. In addition, Mark serves as a Project Manager for several of our sports and gaming-related projects. Mark has led a number of large-scale projects including client work with the Canadian Tourism Commission, 2010 Legacies Now and Spirit of Vancouver. Prior to joining FCV, Mark worked in the Enterprise Information Solutions Division of Mead Corporation and as a web developer at Lexis Nexis. Mark is the founder of Kayak for a Cure, an organization which supports cancer research and raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society, and he has played a major role in securing sponsorship from global brands such as Electronic Arts, Starbucks, Mountain Equipment Co-Op and Hill & Knowlton. Mark holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development from Wright State University where he also played NCAA basketball.

Warren Anthony
Senior Project ManagerWarren Anthony is a Senior Project Manager at FCV with over 10 years experience in the digital industry. Prior to joining FCV, Warren was a senior project manager at Tribal DDB London where he delivered several successful projects for Volkswagen, Philips, Hasbro and David Beckham and was project leader for Volkswagen UK’s online communications team delivering richly creative, integrated, cross-media campaigns like http://www.night-driving.com and http://www.touran-dba.co.uk. Warren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Systems for the Arts and Media from the University of Hertfordshire, England.

Ryan Folstad
Technology DirectorRyan is the Director of Technology at FCV and has been a technical consultant for large enterprises for over 10 Years. Prior to joining FCV, Ryan worked at Business Objects developing large applications to support the Sales, Support and Training departments. Ryan has also worked as an independent consultant for ERP applications for over 5 years. Ryan’s technical interests are in low level software development and open source technologies. Ryan holds a diploma of technology from British Columbia Institute of Technology.
