Drupal Ninja / WordPress Developer

We believe that smart people and insightful planning create remarkable results. We are seeking a Drupal Ninja / WordPress Developer to bring our web and mobile application designs to life using open-source technologies.

We need someone who is a part of the developer community and brings best practice techniques to our suite of client projects including for the Canadian Tourism Commission, Nike, Rocky Mountaineer, RBC and TEDx.

Primary responsibilities

• Develop websites using Drupal and WordPress
• Cross browser compatibility testing and bug fixing (yes, this will include IE6 sometimes).
• Perform role-related tasks as may be assigned
• Design and develop new functionality for our sites
• Work as part of a team (developer team, as well as project team with project managers and designers)

Mandatory qualifications

• Proven experience developing sites on both Drupal and WordPress
• Source control experience with SVN
• Unix tools and scripts
• Good understanding of data structures
• jQuery/javascript/CSS/html coding
• The ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Experience repurposing websites for mobile using CSS and Drupal modules
• SEO
• Multitasking and adaptable to switch between projects
• Creative problem solving skills
• Sense of humour
• Positive attitude

We like to play an active role in the Drupal community: developers are encouraged to contribute code back to the open source community and on 31 July 2010 FCV will host a Drupal workshop /code sprint at our office.
