TEDx
The internationally recognized TED conferences have developed a program called TEDx, where x= an independently organized TED event. When TEDxVancouver came to FCV with a need for a digital interface to host information, invite attendees and share event updates to Vancouverites, FCV had a solution. The TEDxVancouver solution needed to be scalable and customizable year over year and adhere to the strict TEDx brand guidelines.
We worked with local licensees to understand the target market and develop user interaction design around the critical information points. We developed a scalable web portal to encourage participation before, to sustain an online audience during and to distill the happenings after. The portal was able to create a fully customized website for each event held. The resulting sites showcase the event, combine preferred social media aggregators and encourage on-site discussion, rallying the TEDx community.
On the day of the talk, the sites shows a live feed of the TEDx event. Afterwards, the event is available to view by those who weren’t able to attend physically, continuing the discussion and inspiration with all people who shared some way in the event.
The scalable and customizable TEDx portal allows the TEDx community to create and continue inspiring conversations with audiences, to connect and to share assets for discussion at any location.
True to the TEDx credo, we built this web portal on open-source technology so the TEDx community could use it globally, free of charge, inspiring conversations and realizing their goals.
