TravelSmart aims to build and promote sustainable travel imperatives in Metro Vancouver. To coincide with the anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, FCV delivered a comprehensive digital solution for TravelSmart to engage a community of travelers to change behaviours and execute on the Translink mandate.
FCV designed a website to rethink sustainable travel - focusing on TravelSmart solutions to real life challenges such as deciding where to live, choosing a school and commuting to work (or even teleworking). The TravelSmart website was developed through extensive user-consultation and research, and designed according it user-centred design principles, and the tone of voice is open, honest, community spirited - and always practical. The website employs innovative social and gamification strategies that will reach and engage audiences over the long term. TravelSmart is built upon the robust SiteCore CMS to scale to accommodate the project’s 5+ year roadmap.
- Within a week of launch, the site gathered more than 1,000 members including a large following of brand champions on its social media channels. Today it has over 9,000 members and is still growing.
