Challenge: 

Vancouver Convention Centre played host as the media centre for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, under the international spotlight of media and journalists all over the world to cover events during the games. To showcase its building as a world-class meeting space, Vancouver Convention Centre is looking for a website solution that will demonstrate its magnificent facility to meeting planners and incentive buyers world-wide while highlighting the innovative green technology integrated into the building’s systems.

Solution: 

FCV partnered with Vancouver Convention Centre and their digital creative advertising agency to deliver the essence of this incredible space online, using strong photography, clean visual design, and functional navigation - true the style of the physical space. The website offers interactive 3D floor plans to guide visitors through a virtual tour of the meeting rooms, and for those interested in the artwork that hangs on the convention centre walls, a microsite was built to feature an art gallery for visitors interested in those art pieces. The website is available in multiple languages via Google Translate, and powered by the open-source CMS, WordPress to accommodate flexible content changes without compromising the look of the site.

  • Recognized by Communication Arts Webpick of the Day on February 7th, 2011
  • Within the first week, served over 3,000 visitors and has served over 31,000 visitors since the website launched
